Ms. Anne Hage

1st Grade Teacher

I feel very fortunate to teach 1st Grade at Urbana Elementary.  I've been teaching Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades in Frederick County since 1987, and have spent the past 7 years at Urbana.  My teaching career began in New Mexico where I taught Kindergarten for three years.

I have experience teaching Extended-Day and 1st Grade Magnet.  Other responsibilities include Team Leader, Staff Development, Mentor Teacher, FCPA Representative and Math & Language Arts Representative.

I enjoy working with young children; their enthusiasm is contagious!  Our classroom is a place for learning and developing friendships, where every day provides us with a new opportunity to learn and grow together.

My education includes Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing and in Early Childhood Education.  I have also earned an MA in Art Therapy.

The best way for parents to communicate with me would be to send an E-mail, a note in your child's folder, or call the school and leave a message in my voicemail.

I was born in Maryland and have also lived in New Mexico.  My husband is also a teacher in Frederick County, and our two sons call Urbana Elementary their Alma Mater.

My interests include reading, old movies and spending time with my family.
